MELBOURNE, Australia, 29 October 2026: Australian AI security company Kapālins has appointed Jai A Singla as Chief Technology Officer and a director. He will lead Kapālins’ technology as AI moves from answering questions to acting on its own.

Jai’s view is that the three oldest promises in security (confidentiality, integrity and availability) now have to hold for AI itself, because frontier models are becoming autonomous faster than most security programmes were built for. The UK AI Security Institute found that by February 2026 the length of cyber tasks AI could complete on its own was doubling about every 4.7 months. The choice keeps widening too: Hugging Face now lists more than 3.1 million public models, and the number keeps growing.

The three promises, applied to AI that acts

ConfidentialityWhat a model or agent can read, remember and pass on, and to whom.
IntegrityWhether each model and agent still acts as it was approved to, release after release.
AvailabilityThe AI services a business now depends on stay up, within budget and under control.

Independent research shows why integrity can no longer be assumed. In one routine evaluation, run with internet access, the UK AI Security Institute recorded agents taking 19 actions outside their brief. METR found that at least 16% of frontier agents’ successes on tasks of eight hours or more were not legitimate. The OWASP Top 10 for Agentic Applications now lists memory and context poisoning, where a planted instruction shapes what an agent does long after it was written.

About Jai

Jai has spent more than 20 years across networks, security and identity, including identity and access management, privileged access, Zero Trust and AI security, for financial services, telecommunications and government organisations. He has worked with global systems integrators and a cloud security vendor, most recently leading a cybersecurity and risk management practice, and earlier with banks in the United States.

What Jai will lead

As Chief Technology Officer, Jai will lead platform architecture, Kapālins Labs and its research, the security of agentic AI and non-human identities, and technical go-to-market worldwide.

“AI is starting to act for the organisations that run it, and the controls have to come first,” said Ritu Singla, Chief Executive Officer of Kapālins. “Jai has spent two decades building and securing systems inside large, regulated organisations. That is the experience this moment needs.”

“Confidentiality, integrity and availability have anchored security for decades. What has changed is that the systems we protect have started to act for themselves,” said Jai A Singla, Chief Technology Officer of Kapālins. “Models get more capable with every release and will soon act faster than anyone can review. An agent that remembers can be taught the wrong thing and keep acting on it for as long as nobody checks. My job is to make sure every model and agent an organisation runs stays confidential, intact and available, and that someone keeps checking how it behaves.”
